Our Location

Mt. Taranaki

Durham Lake is located at the base of Mt. Taranaki. The mountain view from the park is just stunning. There are two main vehicle access ways up to the mountain. The first is called North Egmont Visitors Center and is just 23 minutes drive away. The other is on the Stratford side via Pembroke Road and is 29 minutes drive. Both entrances have Information Centers. The staff there can inform you of walks and weather conditions etc.

Durham Lake

Durham Lake is just beautiful. Walkways have been made to be enjoyed by all. For the early risers on a still morning a reflection of Mt. Taranaki can be seen in the lake. The lake is also enjoyed by the local wildlife including a friendly family of ducks.
